The extremely juicy Tangelo Seminole is a hybrid of grapefruit and tangerine. The fruit of the Tangelo Seminole is medium-sized, slightly larger than a tangerine. It has a thin, smooth skin that is bright orange to red orange in colour. It is divided into 10-13 segments and may contain a few seeds. As anyone who has eaten a tangelo will tell you, they are incredibly juicy with a rich flavour and a hint of sharpness. We grow them especially for juicing and the juice freezes well until summer when it can be enjoyed on a hot day.
Seminole tangelos are a popular choice for home gardeners due to its easy-to-grow nature and delicious flavour. If you are considering growing Seminole tangelo trees, be sure to choose a location that receives full sun and has well-drained soil. The trees will need to be watered regularly, especially during hot weather.
