Shipping policy
We work hard to get your citrus trees to you safely, affordably, and in the best condition possible.
Delivery Options & Rates
Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your location. While we’ve done everything, we can to keep costs low, sending live plants to areas like Northland, East Cape, Wellington, and the South Island can be pricey—so we’re unable to offer a flat nationwide rate.
But we’re doing our best to help out:
- Free delivery to customers in Athenree and Katikati.
- Free local pickup from our collection point at 18 Adela Stewart Drive, Athenree, Western Bay of Plenty.
- Smart packaging: We’ll fit up to two trees per box, when possible, to save on freight.
- Eco-friendly option: If you would like us to get more than 2 trees per package, we can remove pots and wrap roots in damp newspaper and plastic—just let us know in the comments when ordering. This is a great alternative for people where freight is expensive.
Collection Info
Due to health and safety regulations and limited parking, we’re unable to welcome customers to the nursery itself. If you'd prefer to pick up your order, no problem! Just select "Collection" at checkout and we’ll reach out to coordinate a convenient pickup time.

Plant Care & Quality
Shipping can be a little stressful for plants, so we take extra care:
- Each tree is well watered and securely packaged.
- We recommend giving them a good drink and a liquid feed on arrival (worm tea, fish, or seaweed fertiliser works wonders).
We’re proud of our quality. Citrus Direct works closely with trusted suppliers and uses a reputable plant courier to ensure your trees arrive in great shape. Please note:
- Images on our site are representative only—variation in size, shape, and colour is natural across seasons and varieties.
- We aim to send trees of similar size and shape, but variation does not qualify for refund or return.
