Orangequat trees are a citrus hybrid resulting from a cross between a kumquat (Citrus japonica) and an orange (Citrus sinensis). Orangequat fruit is typically larger than kumquats but smaller than oranges. They resemble small oranges or tangerines in appearance, with smooth, bright orange rinds.

Orangequat trees produce fruit that have a unique flavour, combing the sweetness  and juiciness of oranges with the tartness and slight bitterness of kumquats. The texture of orangequat fruit is similar to that of oranges, with juicy, tender flesh. The skin is thin and edible, like that of kumquats, but less pronounced in flavour compared to traditional kumquats. Orangequat fruit may contain seeds, which are typically small and easily removed if desired. Orangequat trees are stunning specimen tree and look great in a pot or in the ground.
