The Kumquat Meiwa tree is an excellent container or outdoor tree. It has fragrant white flowers in spring and beautiful small, round orange fruit in winter. Kumquat Meiwa trees are a popular variety of kumquat known for its sweet, juicy fruits and compact growth habit. The fruit of Kumquat Meiwa is oval-shaped and about 2.5 cm long. They can be eaten whole, with the skin, or used to make preserves, marmalades, and candied fruit.

It is one of the hardiest citrus fruits, making it a good choice for growers in cooler climates.
