Afourer mandarins are a favourite in our nursery and on our family tables. These medium-sized citrus gems have a rich and complex flavour—sweet, tangy, and beautifully balanced with just the right touch of acidity. Their juicy, tender flesh segments easily, making them a tidy, fuss-free snack that everyone in the family can enjoy.
Bright orange with a smooth, thin rind, Afourer mandarins are typically seedless or contain very few seeds. They're easy to peel and loaded with vitamin C, dietary fibre, and essential nutrients—a refreshingly healthy treat straight from the tree.
Originally discovered in 1982 at an experimental station in Afourer, Morocco, this tree is the result of a happy accident: a chance cross between an unknown citrus variety and a Murcott Clementine. Lucky us
