Jaffa Brownie- Orange and Dark Chocolate Gluten Free

This brownie is Caitlin's go-sweet when she wants something decadent that suits everyone around the table—including those who are gluten-free. The rich dark chocolate paired with fragrant orange zest gives that classic Jaffa flavor. It’s bold, fudgy, surprisingly simple to make. and most importantly, everyone loves it
Ingredients
- 150g butter
- 150g dark chocolate
- 250g sugar
- Zest and juice of 2 large oranges
- 3 eggs
- 50g cocoa powder
- 1½ tsp baking powder
- 100g gluten-free flour
- 150g almond meal
Method
- Preheat the oven to 160°C.
- Line a brownie tin with baking paper.
- Melt butter and chocolate together in the microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring in between until smooth. Let cool slightly.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well
- Add zest and orange juice and mix
- Add Almond meal and sifted BP, Cocoa and Gluten-free flour. Mix to combine.
- Spoon into brownie tin and level the top of the brownie mixture.
- Cook until nearly cooked. You want a soft almost gooey centre
- Leave in tin for ten minutes before turning out onto a cooling rack.
Serving Suggestions
- Sprinkle icing sugar and orange dust or orange zest on the top of the brownie.
- Serve warm or at room temperature with a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of Greek yogurt.
- Great with fresh oranges, especially if they are off your tree.
Extra Tips
- Want more orange punch? Drizzle with a quick icing made from orange juice and icing sugar once cooled.
- For dairy-free adaptation: use plant-based butter and chocolate (check the labels!).
